Grazers’ of the Northern savannah plains

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kampala or Entebbe. As the urban landscape fades into lush greenery, you head toward Gulu, the gateway to the north. Along the way, stop for a local lunch and take in the changing scenery of the savanna.

After breakfast, continue the journey to Kidepo Valley National Park, passing through remote villages and the stunning Morungole Mountains. Arrive in time for an evening game drive as the golden sun sets over the rugged Narus Valley.

Spend a full day exploring the vast plains of Kidepo. The park is known for unique wildlife such as cheetahs, caracals, and aardwolves. Visit the Kanangorok Hot Springs and observe ostriches roaming the scrubland near the South Sudan border.

Begin the day with a morning nature walk or game drive to spot lions resting on granite outcrops (kopjes). In the afternoon, visit a Karamojong Manyatta (homestead) to learn about their traditional way of life, vibrant dances, and pastoral culture.

Depart the northeast and drive toward Murchison Falls National Park, passing through northern Uganda’s farming communities. Upon entering the park, look out for elephants and giraffes on the way to your lodge.

Start with an early morning game drive on the northern bank to spot leopards, lions, and Rothschild’s giraffes. In the afternoon, take a boat cruise to the base of the falls, viewing hippos and crocodiles along the Nile. Optionally hike to the Top of the Falls to experience the power of the crashing water.
Overnight: Murchison Falls

On the final day, visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and track rhinos on foot with an expert ranger. After lunch, continue the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, concluding the trip.
