Overview

This 10-day trip captures the spirit of Grazers’ African Adventures, focusing on the raw beauty of the “Pearl of Africa.” It balances high-octane wildlife encounters—like the “Big Five” and the Great Apes—with the tranquil, scenic “grazing” moments that define the Ugandan countryside.

  • Highlights: Rhino tracking, the world’s most powerful waterfall, Chimpanzee and Gorilla trekking, and the legendary tree-climbing lions. This tour is customizable. Whether you prefer luxury lodges or eco-friendly bush camps, we adapt the “grazing” pace to your preference.

NOTE; single occupancy adds USD 250 comfortable and budget tour USD 120extra in single supplement. Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are highly competitive. We recommend booking at least
6 months in advance to secure your spot in the forest.
Gorilla permits
Mgahinga/Bwindi – USD 800 FNR

EA FR – USD700
Chimpanzee trekking
FNR- USD250
Optional: Chimp Habituation experience (USD50 extra pp.)
Why this tour is definitive choice

  1. The “Big Five” + The “Great Apes”
Most African safaris offer either savannah wildlife (lions, elephants) or primates (gorillas, chimps). This 10-day route is one of the few in the world that combines both seamlessly.
  • Completing the Big Five: By including the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on Day 1, you secure a chance to see all the Big Five, which isn’t possible in the national parks alone.
  • Primate Double-Header: You get dedicated days for both Chimpanzees (Kibale) and Mountain Gorillas (Bwindi), rather than rushing through one.
  1. Maximum Diversity, Minimum “Dead Time”

Uganda is a large country with varying terrain. This 10-day loop is designed to minimize long, empty driving days:

  • The “Western Circuit”: You move from the northern falls down through the western forests to the southern mountains. Each stop is roughly 5–6 hours apart, allowing for afternoon activities rather than just traveling.
  • Landscape Shifts: You’ll experience everything from the semi-arid savannah of Murchison to the misty rainforests of Bwindi and the volcanic crater lakes of Fort Portal.
  1. Water-Based Safaris

Unlike land-only safaris in Kenya or Tanzania, this package utilizes Uganda’s massive water systems for a
“fresh perspective”:

  • The Victoria Nile & Kazinga Channel: Boat cruises allow you to get incredibly close to hippos, crocodiles, and elephants bathing at the shore—vantage points you simply can’t get from a vehicle.
  1. The “Grazer” Philosophy

At Grazers’ African Adventures, the focus is on the experience of the animal in its habitat.

  • Unrushed Viewing: We prioritize “grazing” time—allowing you to sit with a lion pride or a gorilla family long enough to observe their social behaviors, rather than just snapping a photo and racing to the next spot.
Expert Local Knowledge: Our guides are specialized in the Western Uganda circuit, meaning they know the specific “territories” of different animals and the best hidden spots for birdwatching
